Why Vocation Formation?

Mission Services Leadership desires to invest in us, who we are in Christ and what He's calling us to do in the Kingdom as his Children and ministers of the Gospel. We also recognize that these past couple of years have been challenging. This is a hopeful and prayerful response to that; we together will go through this series to remember our vocational foundation and formation.

For this series, we are going to have 5 sessions that explore vocation. Together we will discover that formed in "community"…as an expression of "identity"… that requires us to be continually "abiding" in Christ…which allows us to discern what is essential and make wise "adaptations" to thrive in any environment.

Intro & Community

The largest piece we will hear today is an introduction to Vocation Formation, and we will also get to explore how community impacts that in our lives.

Scripture Pre-Read

"As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” At once they left their nets and followed him. Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him." - Matthew 4:18-22
